Christiaan Postma

Love, love, love this clock by dutch designer Postma. An engaging clock with 150 clock work hands that rearrange to spell out the time.

Eugene Von Bruenchenhein

Eugene Von Bruenchenhein, a native Wisconsinite and outsider artist, is mostly known for his apocalyptic paintings. However, he also made ceramic sculptures and has a large photography collection of his wife. His wife Marie, shown above, was his muse and source of inspiration for all of his art work. I had the pleasure of seeing his work at the Kohler Arts Center a little over a year ago. Von Bruenchenhein's work is also in the permanent collection at the National Folk Art Museum.

A plaque over the kitchen door of his house read: "Eugene Von Bruenchenhein, Free Lance Artist, Poet and Sculptor, innovator, Arrow maker and Plant man, Bone artifacts constructor, Photographer and Architect Philosopher."

Nicolette Brunklaus

I love the new collection from dutch designer Nicolette Brunklaus. Images of spaces, nature, and objects draw from the past, yet don't seem as somber as Nicolette's earlier work. Love it!!!

Hotel Aire de Bardenas

Hotel Aire de Bardenas in Navarra, Spain sits alongside the Bardenas Reales National Park and the Biosphere Reserve in Tudela. Looks like the perfect place to take respite. Designed by Monica Rivera and Emiliano Lopez.

Apartment Life

Sometimes I dream of living in an apartment like this vs buying a house. Funny as it may sound, but I love walking down long hallways and finding odd little rooms tucked here and there. This looks like my ideal apartment....the styling, the molding, the floors....but unfortunately this style of architecture just doesn't exist in America or at least in my city. I'll keep searching though.

SMALL Surprises

Everyone around me seems to be having babies and I couldn't be happier. Lovely online children's magazine SMALL is out for fall 08. Look at these beautiful pictures! Plus, there are articles on art, food, and modern furnishings........Even if you don't have children, SMALL is wonderful to look at (I know I will be buying some of the items for myself).............. Congratulations everyone!

Molo

Molo design: LOVE LETTER LIGHT: This light may have been around for awhile, but I think it is worth revisiting because it is simply amazing. Consists of base, envelope, and film. The piece of electroluminescent film allows you to write any message on it (love letter or not), which is then placed inside the envelope. Turn on and let your thoughts be illuminated.

Fall

The cicadas are droning outside, but I know that fall is around the corner. There is something about fall that is so comforting..... the pace becomes slower and simple pleasures like drinking a cup of coffee or walking through the park seem more appreciated than in summer.....colors change and the light begins to reflect differently.......this is why I love fall.
