Summer is here and the only thing on my mind is retreating to our family cottage in northern Wisconsin. Rivers and fishing and fires and lanterns. Hopefully, in a few weeks my husband and I will be able to go up there. Until then, I found these pictures to awe over. Hope you enjoy them too! My Dutch roots are swooning over these pieces. Designed by Scholten & Baijings, this collection is called 'Truly Dutch' and are interpretations of Dutch masterpieces found at the Zuiderzee Museum. Collection includes: pegged chair, wooden travel case, tilt-top table, drop-leaf table and marken cabinet.
Verner Panton's lighting and furniture always makes me smile so I was equally happy to view these amazing textiles today. Panton used his own hands and ears for these designs, while Marianne Panton was the model for the eyes, lips and feet.
Congratulations to Misewell, Milwaukee based furniture designers, for winning this year’s ICFF Editors Award for Best New Designer. I first saw their pieces at Gallery Night/Milwaukee at DWR in October and I am so pleased to see that they are receiving such a welcoming response from the design community for their first furniture collection.
