I can't help it....this may not be along the lines of design, but this photograph always brightens my day. This is one of my favorite photographs on the Sartorialist. Taken in '07. The weathered vest, the layers, the textures, and that pop of color. When can we be friends?

PLUS MINUS - Bruno Munari

Meaning arises out of the context of its relation to other things. How simply this children's card game highlights this idea. Bruno Murani's 'Plus/Minus' consists of 72 images/cards. The transparent background allows the cards to be stacked to create more complex landscapes. A tree is just a tree, but here we see how its relation to other objects changes our perception of it. This card game is both design worthy and oddly philisophical. I forsee endless hours of creative playing (adults and children alike).

Ionna Vautrin in collaboration with Guillaume Delvigne has produced these other worldly glass and porcelain vases that were inspired by industrial landscapes. The shapes, the colors.....futuristic and familiar at the same time.
